The storm system that left our area wet and damp towards the end of this last work week has moved well to our northeast, and brought a cold front through our area with it. As a result, it will be noticeably cooler today with some light north/northwest winds. The weather will otherwise be benign--with a mixture of sun and clouds throughout the day (more sun than clouds early, probably more clouds than sun late) and the aforementioned light breeze keeping things cool even when the sun is on you. By the way, don't forget to turn your clocks back tonight before going to bed as Standard Time begins at 2am Sunday.

Rest of today (Friday): Reminiscent of yesterday, but a bit cooler, with slightly more sun to go around. Temperatures will struggle to reach the lower 50's for highs, with a light to moderate north wind gusting around 10 miles per hour.

Tonight:  Cold and clear, with temperatures dropping into the 20's inland, near the 32 degree mark in the immediate suburbs, and lower 30's in the city and on Long Island. Don't forget to turn your clocks back before going to sleep.

Looking Ahead: A gradual warming trend is expected Sunday through Tuesday and the middle of the week, as the upper-level storm system responsible for the rainy conditions and then cooler temperatures departs slowly to our north and east. High temperatures by Tuesday should be eclipsing 60 degrees in many locations.
