Attention will then turn to the potential major winter storm Wednesday into Thursday. Forecast models are still struggling, but have come into some agreement at least, with the idea that the storm will be significant and could feature snow and sleet initially in the city and west (mostly snow west and north, mostly sleet and rain towards the shore)...which will then change over to snow, which could be heavy, everywhere. Where the snow/mix/rain gradient sets up is extremely difficult to forecast at this time. That being said, we've issued Snowstorm Watches for the entire are for the potential of 6 or more inches of snow. Stay tuned for more throughout the day Tuesday. For planning, precipitation is expected to begin Wednesday afternoon..continue into Thursday night, be heaviest early Thursday morning, and then end from west to east Thursday afternoon.
