Storm System To Stay Well South of NYC Area

A system currently churning through the southern states did at one point pose a small threat to the NYC Area, but that threat seems to be significantly diminishing as we draw ever closer to the timeframe progged for the event. There are a few things we are missing with this system that would have normally drawn it a bit furthur north. One being a partial phase between the northern jet and the shortwave. This would have basically tugged the system a bit furthur north. Another being ridging in the SE, which would have caused for the system to be forced north. However with none of these looking likely at the moment, and an elongated high pressure system forecasted to set up over the Northeast, the chances have significantly dimished for any snowflakes at all this weekend. Expect crisp and dry conditions saturday, with partly to mostly cloudy on sunday. Conditions are expected to remain clear and cool throught the middle of the week. A break of winter weather is on tap. Enjoy your weekend.
