As we look ahead to the early work week, the forecast gets more complicated. A storm system is forecast to move northeast from the Mississippi Valley and redevelop east of the area. The result will be the potential for a mixed bag of precipitation types. Monday should be mostly dry wtih increasing clouds, with highs once again reaching into the 40's. The trouble starts Monday Night, with precipitation starting as light to moderate rain and continuing into Tuesday morning. As the storm moves north and east and draws in colder air, precipitation could change over to sleet, freezing rain, and snow. Accumulations are expected to be light at this time, and should mainly be a nusiance. Still, keep abreast of the situation for any potential travel impacts. We'll keep you updated for sure.
Further into the future, the potential exists for a snowstorm at the tail end of the week, but model guidance is currently fluctuating dramatically in regards to it's track. A further northwest track closer to the coast would result in a snow event for our area, while a further south and east track would mean a dry weekend. We'll be sure to keep you updated, of course, so be sure to check back for more information throughout the week! Your short term forecast is below, enjoy your Sunday!
Today (Sunday): Mostly sunny, with daytime highs near 39. West winds between 7 and 14 miles per hour, gusting over 20 miles per hour at times.
Tonight (Sunday Night): Increasing clouds, with an overnight low near 29. West winds calmer around 5 to 10 miles per hour.
