First of all, happy Friday! The end of the week is here, and the final day of the work week will bring clear skies and cold temperatures. Friday should be the second consecutive nice day, which is quite a feat given the weather pattern we have been in lately. Temperatures are expected to reach into the low to mid 30's on Friday, several degrees warmer than the high temperatures were yesterday (Thursday). However, it's not all good news as another storm system, albeit weaker than the past few, will approach for the weekend. Friday Night should feature a chance of snow developing from south to north. The snow is expected to transition to sleet and rain (remaining sleet and potentially freezing rain far north and west in Sussex County, NJ and Orange County, NY) by early Saturday. The precipitation may end as some snow Saturday Night into Sunday with some light accumulations. Generally, nothing of major impact in the city or immediate suburbs, but definitely a "nuisance" type winter weather event. Sunday should end up mostly sunny, so we should be able to salvage at least one day of the weekend. Featured image: Live view of Manhattan and New York City, and the Hudson River.

Today (Friday): Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Winds west at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Tonight (Friday Night): Increasing clouds, with a chance of snow developing after midnight. Low near 30. Southwest winds 4 to 8 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch.
