The active weather pattern that has taken hold of our area through the first few weeks of Spring will continue this week, with showers and thunderstorms a distinct possibility each day through Thursday. A stationary front over Central NJ will move north today, allowing temperatures to warm initially before winds turn east off the water and cool the coastal areas. Interior locations will still reach into the 70's, and it is here where showers and thunderstorms (some stronger) will become scattered by evening along the front. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms over Eastern PA to the Delaware River and a 5% risk through the NYC Metro. Tuesday, the warmest day of the week with temperatures in the 80's in the urban corridor,  thunderstorms should stay mostly to our west, although a stray storm or two may again reach western areas. Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will become much more numerous, and may be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms for the entire area on Wednesday, sans eastern Long Island. The bottom line, the pattern is active and is looking to stay that way through Thursday when a cold front pulls through. So be alert for the potential for rain/thunderstorms, but most of all try to enjoy the warmer weather!
