New York Metro Weather has issued a Snowstorm Warning for Sussex County in New Jersey and Orange County in New York. This Snowstorm Warning is valid from 4:00am Wednesday morning through 4:00am Thursday morning. A Snowstorm Warning is issued when forecasters expect a high impact winter weather event to occur over the warning period, or in this specific case, are expecting 5 to 7 inches of snowfall to create hazardous conditions. These conditions are forecast to occur over the next 24-36 hours or are currently occurring. The wintry precipitation accumulation may cause travel difficulties, delays, and stoppages...and may be hazardous to driving and traveling.
