The dual snow events which blanketed most of our area with at least a light coating of snow now a memory, cooler and drier weather returned today. This will be the theme for the next few days, through Thursday, with temperatures moderating a bit Tuesday and Wednesday into the upper 30's and lower 40's for highs. The next chance for precipitation will come on Friday, when a storm system moves northeast from the Mississippi Valley towards the Northeast states. Most models agree that this should be a mostly rain event for our area, but there remains a slim chance that a further southeast track could result in some snow north and west, and away from the city. For now, we'll call it a cold rain throughout the area. This storm system will exit by later Friday, but the weekend should remain somewhat unsettled with a chance of rain or snow on Saturday (very light), and then a better chance of rain Sunday into Monday. For now, enjoy the dry weather! Featured image: Water vapor loop from 6:00pm February 22nd, 2011 showing a tranquil weather pattern in place.

Tonight (Tuesday Night): Mostly clear and cold, with a low near 19. North winds 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 43. Light northwest winds.
