*Counties incuded:
New Jersey: Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union
New York: Orange, Rockland, Putnam, Westchester
Connecticut: Fairfield, New Haven, Litchfield
*Hazards...A moderate to significant amount of snow, sleet, and freezing rain falling from Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
*Accumulations...Uncertainty still exists in exact amounts of snow and sleet, which will be determined by the exact track of the storm system. Generally 3 to 6 inches of snow, followed by a period of sleet and freezing rain, before a changeover to rain.
*Impacts...Travel could be severely affected during the morning and evening commutes Tuesday and Wednesday. Prepare for delays now as snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain are in the forecast.
*Timing...The snow is forecast to develop by morning Tuesday and spread northeast through the area. Snow will change to sleet and freezing rain Tuesday evening and then become all rain by Wednesday.
*Confidence...Confidence in snowfall amounts is very low, specifically the higher tier of amounts. Snowfall amounts may be lower than forecast if a changeover to sleet and freezing rain occurs faster. Confidence in the watch issuance and potential hazards is average.
