With Friday mornings winter storm now out of the picture, our attention will turn to the developing arctic airmass which will make it's pass over the region this weekend and into early next week. Tonight should be colder than previous nights by far, with low temperatures dropping into the teens in the city and easily the single digits inland away from the urban areas and immediate shores. Saturday and Sunday will struggle to reach into the 20's for highs. The real story will be Sunday night, where the coldest air of the season moves overhead. North-northwest winds will usher in the arctic, with low temperatures nearing zero degrees even in the city Sunday Night into Monday Morning, and quite possibly dropping several degrees below zero inland. Stay abreast of the situation by continuing to check in to the blog, we will be providing constant updates on the forecasted severe cold.
