The next few days should feature some calm and cool weather, for a change that many probably will welcome. It has been an active few weeks with several storms leaving some areas over 35-40 inches of snow on the meteorological winter, only through January 14th! With the winter running above average in snowfall, we're always looking for the next potential threat. Over the next 5 plus days, the pattern looks relatively mundane as far as significant snowfall; but one storm next week could offer a mixed bag with snow ice and rain. For now, the weather should be calm and cold through Friday night. A chance of snow showers returns on Saturday..with very light accumulations possible north and west. Then our eyes turn to Tuesday and Wednesday, when a storm cuts through the Great Lakes and tries to redevelop to our south and east. High pressure to our north and northeast may keep temperatures at the surface cold enough for a period of snow and ice before rain. Enjoy the weekend!
