...Coastal system may brush the area with light snow Sunday night and Monday...
A coastal storm system will develop well out to sea Sunday night into Monday. The system will spare the area most of it's impact as it tracks east-northeast from the Southeast states. However, most forecast guidance is now indicating some light measurable precipitation across Eastern Long Island beginning Monday Night and ending by early Tuesday. There is the potential for light snow accumulations, generally no more than an inch or two, if this light snow does in fact make it as far west as Eastern Long Island. The potential does exist for amounts nearer to 2 or 3 inches if the storm tracks slightly west of it's current forecast track, or amounts closer to a trace to an inch if it tracks slightly east of it's current forecast track.
Stay tuned to updates on this Snow Bulletin page, as well as updates from our blog and text forecasts. As always, refer to your local National Weather Service for official forecasts and safety information.
A Snow Bulletin means that light amounts of snow are expected to fall across the area. This snow may cause some light to moderate travel difficulties or delays. Please prepare for slippery and snowy roads and keep alert for updates on the situation.
