The major change to the forecast regards this weekends storm system, which had a chance at impacting the area with significant snowfall. Forecast guidance, although briefly trending west and towards more impact, have now unanimously trended far enough east with the storm system so that it will slide out to sea, providing at most a chance of snow showers on the Eastern end of Long Island. What does this mean for us? It means you won't have to worry about travel this weekend, and the forecast will continue with cold air, and mostly dry conditions. Daytime highs will continue to average in the mid 30's, and overnight lows in the low 20s. Both below average for this time of year. Today (Saturday): Mostly sunny, with a high near 35. Winds out of the west will be light, around 3 to 6 miles per hour.

Tonight (Saturday Night): Partly cloudy, with increasing cloudiness late, mainly east. Overnight lows in the mid 20's. Winds west and very light, near 5 miles per hour.

Sunday: Partly to mostly cloudy, more cloudy east with a slight chance of light snow on Long Island. Highs in the low to mid 30's. Winds shift north and increase to 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation on Long Island and east of New York City is 10 percent.
