..Excessive heat, with the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms by mid-week...

A warm front is forecast to push north of the region by Tuesday evening. Initial concerns with this frontal boundary include the potential for it to serve as the focus for overnight strong thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Then, it will usher in heat...which may become increasingly excessive. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday are forecast...across most of the area..to reach into the mid or possibly even upper 90's. Increasingly moist air...with increasing dew points..will make the air more muggy and unstable. This will allow for excessive heat index readings, as well as the potential for severe thunderstorms both Wednesday and Thursday.

Please keep abreast of the situation over the next few days as the period of hot and active weather approaches.
