...Snowstorm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday Evening through
Wednesday Afternoon...

A strong storm system will develop across the Central United States
on Tuesday, and move northeastward towards the Great Lakes by Tuesday
Night. A high pressure over the region will move northeast, but cold
air will remain in the region during the beginning of precipitation.
Precipitation is expected to begin late Tuesday Night as the
surface low heads towards the Great Lakes. Warm air will begin
to work in gradually, but the low levels of the atmosphere will remain
cold. The precipitation will likely start as snow, and then begin to
mix with sleet and rain from south to north. By the time the precipitation
has switched to all rain, snow and sleet totals are expected to
exceed 3 to 4 inches in much of the watch area, especially
north. There is a small chance that northern and western portions
of the watch area (specifically northwest Orange and northern
Litchfield counties) could exceed 6 inches of snow and sleet
before the changeover to rain.

The snow and sleet would cause hazardous driving conditions
for a prolonged period of time and may impact the morning commute
on Wednesday.

There is still significant uncertainty with this system. Please
stay tuned for more updates and safety information.

...A Snowstorm Watch means there is the potential for
significant snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may
impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts...
