***WE HAVE MOVED TO A NEW WEBSITE. You will be automatically redirected to our new location in 5 seconds.
So, everyone on this blog admits to one thing. We started this blog up without providing you guys much information as to what we do here and how things are going to work over the winter. We apologize for this and we understand if anybody had any confusion. So let's clear it all up right now. We are New York MetroWeather. Every day, there will be at least one new post to the blog homepage. This means you will see new information on our areas weather as it happens and as we see it. We will provide inside opinions, show you new technology, and explain things as fully and detailed as possible. Daily posts on the blog could range anywhere from "Why the forecast guidance dropped the ball with this storm", to "Understanding dynamic snowfall", to "Long range pattern indications".

We have public and technical discussions that will be updated every day. These discussions will feature near term, short term, and long term forecast highlights and reasoning. The technical discussion is meant for meteorologists or other weather enthusiasts. The public discussion is leaned towards a more public understanding of meteorology. We will also frequently update graphical forecasts including snow forecast maps and severe weather information.

Our team of bloggers features undergraduate meteorology students and a staffed meteorologist (RC) who spent years working for the National Weather Service. The New York metro area enjoys some of the most diverse weather over a small location in our country. We hope to provide you with a unique and in depth look into the always changing weather in our area. We hope you're ready for winter, because our team of bloggers certainly is.
