Dreaming Of A Wet Christmas?- Here Comes The Rain

Firstly, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to everybody, I hope you are all enjoying your holiday. As you are unwrapping the gifts you may have noticed that its gotten quite dreary outside, as most of the area is in 100% Cloud Cover. Fog has also become a problem closer to the coast. Temperatures in the area are a bit below forecasted this morning, but nothing really to be worried about. There are a few cool pockets out there, but nontheless expect these areas to warm up as ridging develops infront of the system. Temperatures from midnight last night are too your right...and they really havent changed much.(SENJWx, EUSWxBB)

Anyway, now that the temperatures are tackled, its time to nowcast with this system. Everything seems to be going as planned in my opinion..system is really not that strong, which was expected. Heres the radar loop as of 940am 12/15 (Click To Animate). Firstly, you can see the system is not really organized at all, with precipitation broken in alot of areas and with lots of dry slots. The precip is pivoting northward, and is basically on schedule as far as timing goes. This wont be a steady rain for 10 hours, i can tell you that much. It will come in spurts, heavy at times, and then at times just end. In areas such as the Poconos, it may begin as freezing rain or fog. However, most areas start as rain with this system, and stay rain the entire event.

In conclusion, the holiday forecast is still on tap and nothing has changed as far as precip type or timing. Hope everybody has a happy and safe Holiday.
