As we begin to wrap up another beautiful late summer-day, temperatures are beginning to even out from the diurnal highs, which reached into the low to mid 80's across the forecast area. Clear skies early gave way to some instability cumulus clouds, which didn't get in the way too much at all. Central Park jumped up to 82 at 3pm even despite the presence of these fair weather clouds. Newark was a few degrees higher into the mid 80's, while stations near the water were a few degrees cooler, nothing atypical for this time of year. The high pressure system which began it's hold on the weather pattern yesterday is still in place, and it's presence will lead to another cool and crisp-feeling evening and overnight tonight. We're happy to report that there are no weather hazards in the forecast through the near future, unless you can't hazardously beautiful weather through Thursday. Through Tonight (Tuesday Night): Although not quite as cool as the previous two nights, Tuesday Night will still feature long-sleeved shirt type weather, with low temperatures dropping into the low upper 50's to low 60's throughout the area. Inland areas will still drop into the low to mid 50's (maybe even close to an even 50 in the suburbs and elevated areas), although the metro will still have trouble getting to less than 60 degrees. Nonetheless, dew points will still be low enough to make it another very comfortable overnight.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Sunshine rules the day once again as high pressure remains in dominant control. The mid level of the atmosphere will actually feature more ridging building in--meaning higher heights and warmer temperatures at the surface underneath full sun. Still, temperatures in the mid 80's with at least relatively low dew points will mean comfortable, summer-like weather once again on Wednesday.

Peek into the Long Range: The only real disappointing event to speak of is the fact that this beautiful weather cannot continue forever, as is the case with most things. Thursday and Friday will feature slightly less-than perfect weather as a backdoor cold front brings some cooler weather and clouds with a wind off the water. Still, no widespread weather hazards or heavy rain is in the forecast.
