If youre just waking up and getting out of the house for the first time, you'll quickly realize that the cold air has made it's way back into the region. A fresh, cold airmass is moving in amidst a northwest flow from Canadian high pressure. Temperatures today will struggle to reach towards 30 degrees, with winds still gusty at 10 to 15 miles per hour. There is also still a very isolated risk of falling ice from the storm a few days ago. In addition to the ice, snow flurries and isolated snow squalls will be around to start the day. So be sure to drive slowly and carefully today both for the ice, and potential squalls.

This weekend storm remains somewhat uncertain, but more likely than not will not be a significant event. If the colder model guidance were to verify, the interior suburbs could be looking at a light to moderate snowfall. Otherwise it looks like a sloppy few inches with rain and sleet certainly mixed in near the coast during the precipitation. That storm is out of the picture by Sunday, which looks to be the better day of the weekend, albeit somewhat chilly and breezy.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a slight chance of snow showers. Highs in the upper 20's. Northwest wind gusty at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with lows in the teens inland, and upper teens in the city. Northwest winds 5 to 10 miles per hour
