*Discussion...
...Coastal storm will impact the area with some frozen precipitation before warm air enters the area...
A coastal storm system will develop Tuesday into Wednesday with widespread precipitation impacting the area. Warmer air moving in aloft will eventually change precipitation to sleet and rain, but cold air entrenched at the surface initially will allow for a period of snow and sleet. This snow and sleet will coincide with the morning commute Tuesday morning. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected before the transition to rain occurs. The transition should occur from south to north..and may take longer to occur further north and west away from the coast and the urban areas.
