Wet Christmas in Store for Tri-State

Confidence continues to dramatically increase for the Holiday Weekends Forecast. an area of low pressure will track off the Coast of New Jersey on Sunday evening providing the area with decent amounts of QPF. Warm air being drawn into the system will do its part, and keep the system mostly if not all rain. Its fairly surprising how warm it actually will be for this system.

Model data shows quite a hefty warm up for Christmas Day, with temps reaching near 55 degrees in some areas. Temperatures today around the tristate range from 40 to near 50 in some areas as well. Quite a pleasant day outside.

However this warmth is not expected to last long after Christmas, as we are set to return to a wintery and possibly stormy pattern once again. As seen on the image at right, the storm system that affected us on Christmas has moved up North of New England, and its bringing the warm ait with it. Behind it, fridgid air is funneling in from Canada. This is, infact good news for the snow hounds out there. We will keep you updated as far as snow possibilities go in the medium anlond g range area of the Forecast.

That basically sums it up. Best wishes to all, have a happy and Safe Holiday
