NAM Model's cloud cover forecast for
mid afternoon on Wednesday
The first two days of the week have been characterized by pleasant temperatures, nearly full sun, and a lack of humidity, with temperatures rising to comfortable summer levels in the afternoon, and falling to slightly crisp and autumn-like levels at night. This has come as a much welcomed break to the active weather pattern our area has been enduring over the past several weeks. Although Wednesday looks to feature pleasant temperatures and sun early, the presence of a mid level disturbance will eventually lead to the development of  high clouds, which should lower with time by Wednesday evening. High temperatures will likely be reached early in the afternoon as temperatures rise into the lower to mid 80's, which will then be capped off by the aforementioned clouds. Still, with a lack of heavy precipitation and hazardous weather, we really can't complain.

Today (Wednesday): Sunshine rules once again early in the day as high pressure remains in dominant control. The mid level of the atmosphere will actually feature more ridging building in--meaning higher heights and warmer temperatures at the surface underneath full sun. Still, temperatures in the mid 80's with at least relatively low dew points will mean comfortable, summer-like weather once again on Wednesday. The second half of the day will feature increasing clouds--initially high clouds, but lowering...as a mid level disturbance moves in.

Tonight (Wednesday Night): More clouds will be present than the past few nights--and as a result, the temperature won't be able to drop off into the 50's and low 60's as conveniently as it had under clear skies. Dew points will also be higher--in the upper 50's to low 60's--so in general it won't feel as comfortable. Still, precipitation doesn't look like a big issue, so it shouldn't stop you from enjoying a summer's night out.

Peek into the Long Range: The only real disappointing event to speak of is the fact that this beautiful weather cannot continue forever, as is the case with most things. Thursday and Friday will feature slightly less-than perfect weather as a backdoor cold front brings some cooler weather and clouds with a wind off the water. Still, no widespread weather hazards or heavy rain is in the forecast.
